FYI...

Cleve Backster will be on "Coast to Coast AM" with host George Noory this Wednesday night.

If any of you are talk radio junkies, then you are probably familiar with Art Bell and George Noory, as well as the Coast to Coast overnight radio program.

Here is a cryptic description of Wednesday's show lifted from the C2C homepage:

--------------------------------------------
Cleve Backster -Lie Detection- primaryperception [hyperlink]

An expert in lie detection technology, Cleve Backster will discuss his most recent changes in protocols from analog to digital equipment and what the implications are as well as some unusual results.
--------------------------------------------

By the way, Cleve has been featured on Coast to Coast AM at least twice before. I heard Cleve in the fall of '04 when he was on with Art Bell. Oddly enough, I was attending Cleve's polygraph school in San Diego at the time!

Here's the URL for the program's web site, which contains a listing of affiliates as well as local program times, etc.

Fabulous. Nothing spells credibility like being on Coast to Coast-----a program that is best known for telling ghost stories, alien abduction experiences, and the global threat of mind control rays from Alaska.

Approximately 2 million listeners are going to be taking bong hits and tripping-out on ole' Cleve, that's for sure. And let's not forget that George is gonna love it too. sheesh.

Folks seem to think Cleve Backster is a nutt, well we have all benefited from his work over the years. He is a brilliant individual. You may wish to disagree with his plant life study, but have you ever tried it yourself? My intern sponser, almost 23 years ago demonstrated that his experiment worked in front of my eyes. I have not followed the studies he has done, and don't give a damn what "George" has to say. Backster is a legend in polygraph, like it or not.

A very good point indeed Bill2E. However, during what amounts to be a credibility battle between folks who feel that polygraph is quakery, and folks who feel that polygraph is scientific, I would suggest that figures who are essentially giants in our field not climb into bed with quacks-----such as the coast to coast spook show.

I don't question Cleve's research on plants (for who am I to do so, as I'm not a botonist.)
I have little doubt that some ufo's are real(I am [was]a pilot).
I am quite convinced that ghosts exist---as I trust honest family members who've seen them.

But I am even more convinced that Cleve needs a better publicist.

A word of advice. George is doing a better job of PR than us (relative to our numbers)---so you might want to give just a little damn.-----stat

I don't think anyone really doubts Cleve Backster contribution to polygraph.

But how are we supposed to refrain from having fun with this???

Those all night hours only fuel the vampire argument.

I'm not a botanist either, but I bet there are a few amature or professional horticulturalists/hydroponics experts who listen to the Coast to Coast show.

Backster's plant experiment made an episode of the Myth Busters. According to their experiments it was "busted".

Just because Backster does what some consider off the wall experiments does not mean he is. Some great things have come from the likes.

I stayed up WAY too late in order to hear Cleve. I lost consciousness at around 1am----and I heard no indication that he was even going to be a guest. Thanks alot Dan.

If you recieve a call and hang-up in the middle of the night at home, depriving you of a good circadian cycle you know it is payback for your goose chase (lol).----E

Stat,

You crapped out too soon... Cleve was on, exactly as scheduled, from 0200-0500 EDT. But don't feel left out -- George already has the streaming audio file posted on his site!

I just want to make sure I got this straight:

You guys are up at 0200 hours listening to a radio talk show and you think Cleve has issues?

Remember what people first said about Einstein? If I had spent as much time researching polygraph as Cleve has, I just might start talking to plants too!

Keep up the good work Cleve!

Ted

I'd be more concerned if the plants talked back.

However, all of this, staying up all night, conversations with plants, and elvis spying on us from the flying saucer implanting messages in our brains from foreign gummits - can all be treated with meds.

Peace,

Oops... George does NOT have the streaming audio file of Cleve's segment on last night's C2C program. Rather, George has links to "similar interviews" with CB. Mea culpa.
